The chair hire sector of the events industry is as complex and cut throat as any I have seen. Needing to hire 200 folding chairs for a meeting being held in a hotel, I set out to find a decent company. I thought this was going to be easy, little did I know what I was letting myself into. London event companies are like sharks, they all circle until there is nothing left for them. After 100's of phone calls and another 50 grey hairs added to my head, I could take no more so I called the only company that never hassled me to death. I eventually got my chairs and the event went ahead as planned.

The guest speaker was a life coach; they explained that in this new economic world you will not survive if you are weak and not putting yourself out there. I was wondering all the way through her speech whether she had at sometime in the past needed to hire some chairs. After the event I just had to pose the question, In reply she told me she emphasized with me. As she walked away, she turned and exclaimed, “I would recognize those chairs anywhere, and I use capital as well”.

The event was a great success with mu company making a lot of very interesting contacts. Personally, I was glad to get out of London and return to my dreary life in the wooded Kent countryside. If ever anyone asks me to hire them some chairs, they will think I am totally crazy as I run away as fast as my little legs will carry me. I have decided to leave the rat race forever.
